ADIEU CONDO LIFE
We’re out. We’re finally out. I’ve waited for this day for so long and it’s finally come. We’ve moved out of our condo and into a house. Well, the house isn’t our house, it’s the house that belongs to Deepa and Jeet. They’ve been kind enough to let us stay with them until we get our home next year. So, it’s kind of like a transition home.
We’ve spent just about every hour, when not at work or fulfilling contract obligations, packing, moving, and unpacking. Needless to say, how we all juggled the tasks of this week is beyond me. We had a great deal of help from family and hired movers (folks never do that stuff on your own … hire some good help and have some peace of mind).
We’re pretty much situated now, with only a few minor things left to do. We had no problems getting our wireless up. Heh, in fact Jeet and I made sure that was up and running the second day in the place. However, as with designing and development, 95% of the work takes 10% of the time, leaving you with only 5% of work still left to do, that takes you 90% of the time to do it … ugh.
The ladies are lying down at the moment. Deepa’s getting some rest, Harp is down with Roenik, Taaj and Tiia are sleeping upstairs, I’m blogging, and Jeet’s putting the finishing touches connecting his DVD player up to his plasma.
I was planning to get all my stuff set up in the basement today. There’s still the entertainment system with the Wii, XBOX 360, and surround sound to get going, but I’ll save that for tomorrow. It shouldn’t take that long to wire up, plus as a reward, I think I’ll spend some time playing Lost Planet. I saw the game on demo at Futureshop and was catching myself with, whoa’s.
Lost Planet
I’m hoping that by this evening, we’ll be pretty much done and spending the rest of the week with various odds and ends. I can honestly say that I don’t miss the condo at all. The kids love the space. Taaj has already found his “corner” to play and Tiia loves the freedom of roaming about and, as with Taaj when he was her age, Tiia has found a great affinity for the stairs … constantly climbing and descending them.
Heh, I wonder if this means I have another K2 or Everest post coming.

Spending will make you happier, but not in the way you think. Interesting read over at Secular Philosophy.

Chrisopher Hitchens nails it yet again with this piece for Slate Magazine. After reading the piece, I’m inclined to agree with a lot of it.

When flying 35,000 feet above land, I stare down at the natural landscape and marvel at it ... and every time I fly over a city, town, etc. ... I can’t help but to think ... so this is what cancer looks like.
I know, it’s harsh, but have a look, cities and towns just don’t blend very well with the natural landscape.

According to this read over at Dailytech, the XBOX360 has a 33% failure rate! Like what?? Like how much? Like one in every three units will have hardware failure! I love my box ... and I’m touching wood it stays in with the other 66%.

Old news for some of you out there, but “Demon Days” by Gorillaz ... not bad eh? Not bad at all. Nice tunes on that list.

A 16 year old girl proclaimed she is an atheist. The reporter asked her why and she promptly replied, “I was born that way.”
Interesting ... she’s right, you know.

CURRENTLY
Kingdom Of Heaven: The story of Balian’s quest for redemption and his battles against those who seek power in it’s name. This is an excellent movie whose message is perhaps more important today than it was then.
Dawkins tackles it all in his no holds barred approach to whether God exists. The stance? The probability of it? Very unlikely.
"Hopes and Fears” and “Under The Iron Sea” by Keane get constant play from my iTunes. Find out why their music is so good. After all they were the band that inspired Coldplay.
As Marcus Fenix, you fight a war against the immense Locust Horde, which not only out powers but outnumbers you, your squad, and the entire force of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Time to pull out the stops in a game that delivers the next-generation in tactical combat systems in Gears of War.
