GAGE PARK
On Saturday, Harp and I were to attend a wedding, but I fractured a bone in my right foot. I could barely walk.
But I didn’t want to stay in all day, so we decided to join The Little Man’s sister and brother at Gage Park for some fun in the small water park they have there.
I took this shot while sitting down. Where else was I going to take it from? The two were talking to each other, alone by the wall of this store. I asked them to turn for a shot and wanted to get closer to them, but couldn’t.
So I decided that I would use them in the corner of the frame. Since they were against the wall, depth of field wasn’t an issue here, and so I chose f/8 as the aperture. Set the shutter speed so that the exposure meter, through the viewfinder, said all was Ok and fired off a series of shots. Despite an even exposure, I still played with the saturation and contrast levels.
I liked how this captured just how much The Little Man looks up to his sister.
