TWO PARK BENCHES
On Friday past, my sister arrived from California. She brought some new “gifts” for me. One of them was the new fisheye lens.
Here is my first attempt at using it. I love the funky distortion, it’s the main reason why I decided to purchase it primarily as the “fun” lens in my bag.
There might be the odd occasion I would want to de-fish an image (flatten it out), to get a “normal” wide angle shot, but that would require a crop to a certain degree. Even Nikon’s Capture Editor isn’t able to de-fish perfectly, leaving aberrations along the edges.
This image, however, has severe chromatic aberrations. As evidenced by the tree branches on the top left and right. You can see a purple tinge there.
Now, I’m new to shooting with a fisheye, but I’m hoping this is mostly due to the low light conditions instead of a consistent issue with the lens. More shots will tell.
